The Herdshare
We do not sell raw milk. It’s against the law to do so without a massive expensive regulated facility, as the current law stands only owners are allowed to consume milk from their cow.
What we are offering is a chance to be co-owner of a dairy cow herd. There is actually only one cow in the herd right now, but we have plans to expand in the future! She is producing 5-6 gallons a day while also nursing her calf. We believe in allowing mothers to raise their calves to a natural weaning age. As co-owner, you will be entitled to your share of the liquid gold, while letting us handle all of the hard work.
How to become a member
There is a one-time purchase fee of $100 per share, but that fee will be fully refunded if at any time you decide to leave the herdshare. Each share entitles the member to approximately 1 gallon of milk per week, which can be picked up in the milking barn at the agreed-upon time. In order to cover the cost of feeding, housing, and caring for the herd each member will need to pay a $75 per month maintenance fee per share. Jars will be provided for pickup, but there is a $20 annual fee to help cover the cost of replacement jars.
