The Goats

Does

Lily

This beautiful tricolor doe was born on Marigold Ranch on October 20, 2018. We brought her home as a six-week-old bottle baby, and have loved her ever since. She prefers to spend her time with humans and never leaves our side when we are out in the pastures. She is registered ADGA and descends from Castle Rock lines.

Camellia

In four years of breeding, Camellia is hands down the cutest doeling we have ever had. Blue eyes and tricolor with an extensive white overlay. She inherited her mother's sweet disposition and has become best friends with our calf. She will be bred for the first time in the fall of 2023, and we every expectation that she’ll have an outstanding udder given her genetics.

Daisy

This little princess is hands down the smallest goat we have ever had born on the farm. She was the runt in a rare set of quintuplets. Lily and Ragnar had her in March of 2023, and we are absolutely in love with both her personality and form.

Athena

Athena came to us in the summer of 2020. We purchased her at just over a year old from an incredible farm in Sonoma. We absolutely love her black and white markings and freckle-covered nose. She has a curious personality and the funniest call when she wants attention. She is our highest producing doe.

Billy

We never planned on keeping a wether, but when we went to pick up his sister Tilly and saw how attached to each other they were we couldn’t leave him behind. He was disbudded as a newborn but he rams his head into things constantly and has since grown a scour in the middle of his head. We have taken to calling him Billy the unicorn.

Ragnar

This little cutie is the most recent addition to our herd, he came to us from a local 4H farm with amazing milking lines. He is ADGA registered with brown eyes and tricolor markings. Ragnarok and his mother were both quads, something that is uncommon in this breed. So we are hoping he will be able to carry on this tradition in the future litters he sires.

Herd Management

We believe that it is our duty to make sure that the animals in our care live their very best lives. We work closely with a farm veterinarian to insure that they are always in good health. It is our belief that animals should be treated based on their health rather than preemptively, therefore we only treat with medicine such as antibiotics if it's required for life-saving measures. We routinely test the goats for worms and only deworm them as needed. They are tested yearly for CAE, CL, and Johne's, and we also require recent clean test results from all goats prior to breeding. Our goats are pasture-raised and supplemented with grain, hay, and loose mineral. They are also given a selenium & vitamin E supplement, a dose of copper every eight months, and routinely treated with CD&T. They are kept in a barn at night that is regularly clean and disinfected.
